This is such a GREAT film! The acting (at times the overacting), the story, the sets…even just the idea behind it. This is probably one of my favorite Charlton Heston films (though it is a tough call between this and Planet of the Apes). He was perfectly cast in this futuristic look into what could be when our food supply starts to run out.
It is particularly interesting to see that even as early as 1973, we were already aware of what was coming our way with “global warming” and the abuses we as a species inflict on each other and the earth.
I recommend this movie to everyone, even those who won’t like it. It is an important part of film culture in that way, and a very well executed example of its genre.
